25th Mt. Kinabalu International Climbathon 2011
Date : 22 - 23 October 2011
Participants will attempt to run up and down Mt. Kinabalu (4095.2m high with a total distance of 21km) in less than three hours to be deemed the champion of the ‘World's Toughest Mountain Race'. The Climbathon is the final race of the 7-series 2011 Sky Runners® World Series and is the only race in the circuit held outside of Europe. Sky Runners® World Series is regulated and coordinated by the European-based International Skyrunning Federation (ISF).

The Tamu Besar is the biggest traditional open-air market held in Sabah. Organised annually at the district of Kota Belud, the main highlights are the Bajau Horsemen (fondly known as the ‘Cowboys of the East') parade, the Ratu Serempak beauty pageant and the water buffalo race.

Festival Bagandang, Beaufort

Come away to the district of Beaufort and witness the Bagandang Fest which celebrates traditional musical instruments in Sabah such as the Kulintangan, mini brass gongs played during weddings. This event will showcase the colourful culture of the Bisaya, Lundayeh, Murut and Brunei people.

Vienna Boys' ChoirDate : 29 - 30 October 2011
The world renowned Vienna Boys' Choir is coming to Kota Kinabalu for the second time! Comprising of 26 children aged 10 - 14, these boys hail from mostly Austria, but have performed in numerous countries across the globe and are internationally known for their enchanting performances.
Performing a broad repertoire ranging from sacred music and oratories to operettas, traditional Viennese waltzes and folk songs from around the world, as seen through their rendition of the infamous Sabahan song, 'Jambatan Tamparuli' in their first performance here back in 2002.
As part of Rotary Club Kota Kinabalu (RCCK)'s fund-raising charity project, the young choristers will once again enthral us with their captivating sounds, trebles and altos.
By attending this event, you will not only be blown away by this charming choir, but also be helping those in need.
Tickets priced at RM250, RM100 and RM50 (for students) will be made available at the Tong Hing Supermarkets, Pacific Sutera Hotel and Magellan Sutera Resort.
